BEARTOOTH TRIP

In August Jeff and I took a backpacking trip with some great friends, Gloria and Scott Spencer into the Beartooth/Absaroka Wilderness. It was a trip we had planned for a year and what a great time we had! We hiked with packs for six days and five nights. The scenery was unbelievable, the fishing great, the company even better. We had no cell coverage, which was very peaceful, and I was reminded each day of what a beautiful world we live in. Jeff's comment was "The Lord really knows what to do with a paintbrush!".

We hiked in from Cook City, MT., at the Chief Joseph trail head and ended up at East Rosebud Lake by Redlodge, Mt. We climbed up to 10, 300 ft in elevation and then hiked down 4,000 ft to the lake. What a wonderful trip, every day was like a renewal of spirit. It was a humble reminder of who really is in charge...

I have lots of pictures.....above is the first day.....and the last....After a week of freeze dried, rice and oatmeal we all were dreaming of greasy hamburgers and chocolate milkshakes. We got the hamburgers, (really good, not greasy at all) but no milkshakes.....had to settle for blizzards.
